Project Essay

My project topic is computer engineering. This is a career I would like to have in the future. So my goal was to learn more about this career. I decided to do this project because I think computers are an important part of peoples everday life. A computer engineer can be very helpful in constructing and fixing computer problems. My task was what does a computer engineer actually do? ,what does it take to become a successful computer engineer? and what can I do now to help me become a successful computer engineer. I know that computer engineering is a rewarding career and this is what I found out about it.

What does a computer engineer actually do? A computer engineer designs and constructs and test computer systems. Computer Engineers usually focus on designing software applications. Computer engineers have a lot of freedom on what projects they work on. Computer engineers can also team up with civil engineers or an automotive designer to help create a river dam or create internal systems that regulate fuel efficiency and tire pressure of a car. A computer engineer works on computer servers for large company's like banks or servers for small businesses or even a school if a server is down a computer engineer can come fix the problem you never know when you need one that's why I think its a helpful career.

What does it take to become a successful computer engineer? I know that you need a bachelor’s degree but its not really important but it will help you and improve your chances of getting a job. And also you would need a lot of math skills and some programming skills. I know that a lot of math will be involve with this career, so in college I may have to take some math classes. Not many people know that math is involved and it is very important in this field, this means that i would have to take some advanced math classes in college. To become a successful computer engineer i would have to have good skills for solving problems. And also I would have to have a good understanding of technology.Becoming becoming a computer engineer will be a difficult task, not only do i need to start to work hard and take my math skills to the next level i also have to take classes in physics. Also I know the industry is very competitive and knowing all this will give me a big step up in my knowledge of what this industry is like.

What can I do now to help me become successful a computer engineer? what I can really do know is take my math classes and take some my normal classes and get into college and maybe take advanced math classes and physics classes. And during this time in college I will have to seek out a mentor and this will really help me in getting started in this field. Also I will have to learn math and computer language which will take some time but it will pay off. After im done with college I will have to stay alert on new positions on companies I could do this by networking with other computer engineers. and in the future I could attend informational seminars that will keep me updated on new technology. these are the steps i have to take before and during the time as a computer engineer.

I wanted to take this career in the future because I think it will be rewarding career and it will probably take a long time so it can get out of date. It will be difficult but with the right knowledge and good thinking I could become a successful computer engineer.

Process Reflection #1

My Project is Computer Engineering. This project is important to me because it would be a career choice that I would like to do and I will like to learn more about this field. I think it would be good if because then I will be more prepared. I didn't really know much about this field at first I am starting to learn some of the basics like what kind of college degree i need( I need a bachelors degree). I need to learn on what different parts a computer may have like the most important parts and how it is put together. I could connect my project because a computer is a everyday use to many people and it will be very important if i could help people with there computer problem(and get paid for it) and also it will be a big help for me because I also need to use a computer every day for school and college to. That is why this topic is important to me and that is why I am determined to do well in this project.
